Meet another great participant in our WHO NEW?! Art Crawl – The Grilled Cheese Social Eatery
I’m ecstatic to have The Grilled Cheese Social Eatery on board. Not only do they present their business with creative flair, their selection of grilled cheese sandwiches is out of this world! A personal fave of mine is the Mac N Cheese GC – THOUGH on the night of the art crawl it will be named something else because Randy is renaming the menu items after local artists! How fun!
During Barrie’s Art Crawl, the Eatery will be showing some work from a couple of great local artists – Tasha Paulus and Molly “maddmoll” Aylwin.
Tasha Paulus is a local sculptor and abstract painter with a surrealist and tactile style. Strongly influenced by feminist approaches to art, her themes often examine the body with specific focus on pain, taboo, sexuality and gender. Her current work focuses on sexualizing the feared and hated fat female body.
Maddmoll is a visual and tattoo artist currently working at Endeavour Tattoo and Piercing in Barrie. Her work has an illustrative style, often influenced by animation and comics. She works in a variety of mediums, but mainly with pencil and ink, and her works cover a variety of themes and subjects. Follow her on Twitter , Facebook and Instagram.
The Eatery will also be piping the music of popular local Barrie band The Morals, whose CD’s are available for sale at the establishment. On the night of the art crawl – PLEASE – come with your stomachs empty and stop in on your way from one end of downtown to the other for a scrumptious sandwich.
A little bit more about The Grilled Cheese Social Eatery:
The Grilled Cheese Social Eatery is Barrie’s best place to hang out and eat a fantastic meal. Good music is always playing, and the walls are always covered in new and exciting art pieces, creating the perfect environment for friends and family to come and enjoy a sandwich.
